Copyright and Takedown Policy
Last updated: 9 August 2026
Quote Daddy ("the Service") is operated by Market Equities Limited ("we", "us"), registered in Ireland.
We respect the rights of publishers, photographers, data providers, and other rights-holders. This page explains what we show, why, and exactly how to ask us to remove something.
1. What the Service displays
The Service brings together material from several sources:
- Market data, quotes, charts, and fundamentals licensed or obtained from third-party data providers, including Finnhub.
- Regulatory filings (such as SEC EDGAR documents), which are public records, shown in a reading view within the Service.
- News headlines and articles. Headlines and links come from news providers and public feeds. Where you open an article, the Service may display it in a simplified reading view — the article text with the publisher's name, the author where available, and a prominent link to read the original at the publisher's own site.
We do not claim ownership of any of this material. Copyright in third-party content remains with its owner, as stated in Section 7 of our [Terms of Service](https://quotedaddy.com/terms.html). Our own rights extend only to the Quote Daddy name, branding, software, design, and the way we arrange material.
2. If you are a rights-holder
If you believe material shown in the Service infringes your rights, or you simply do not want your content displayed in our reading view, contact us and we will act. You do not need to hire a lawyer to write to us, and you do not need to threaten us first.

What to include
To let us act quickly, please tell us:
1. What the material is — the headline, article, image, or data in question. 2. Where it appears — the URL, or a description of where in the app you found it (a screenshot is ideal). 3. Who you are — your name, the rights-holder you represent, and contact details. 4. Your rights — a brief statement that you own the rights or are authorised to act for the owner. 5. A good-faith statement — that you believe the use is not authorised by the rights-holder, its agent, or the law. 6. Confirmation that the information in your notice is accurate. 7. A signature — electronic or physical.
A publisher who simply wants their content excluded from the reading view can say so in one line; we do not require the full notice above for that.
3. What we do when we receive a notice
- We acknowledge valid notices, normally within five working days.
- Where a notice is valid, we remove or disable access to the material promptly. In practice, for news content this usually means adding the publisher to our exclusion list, so their articles are shown as headline and link only, with no reading view.
- If a notice is unclear or incomplete, we will come back to you rather than ignore it.
- We keep a record of notices and what we did about them.
We may decline a notice where the material is a public record (such as a regulatory filing), where the use is covered by a licence we hold, or where we believe the use is permitted by law — but we will tell you why rather than stay silent.
4. Counter-notice
If we removed or disabled something you posted or supplied and you believe that was a mistake or a misidentification, write to [email protected] with:
1. Identification of the material and where it appeared before removal; 2. A statement that you believe in good faith it was removed as a result of mistake or misidentification; 3. Your name, address, and contact details; and 4. Your signature.
We will consider counter-notices in good faith and may restore the material where appropriate.
5. Repeat infringement
We will terminate, in appropriate circumstances, the accounts of users who repeatedly infringe the rights of others.
6. Our own content
If you wish to use Quote Daddy's branding, screenshots, or written material, please ask first at [email protected]. We are usually happy to say yes for press, reviews, and educational use.
This policy is provided in good faith and does not constitute legal advice. It is intended to give rights-holders a clear, fast route to reach us.
